At the heart of the proposal is the transformation of the existing buildings into a villa centre that serves a new residential community. Drawing on experience in hospitality, leisure and residential design, the scheme reimagines the historic farmstead as a social and cultural hub for the wider development.
The approach carefully integrates new homes within the landscape while retaining the character and spatial hierarchy of the original agricultural setting.
A key element of the project is the adaptive reuse of a 500 year old watermill alongside several later farm buildings, which together form a mixed use destination. These structures are repurposed to accommodate a range of shared amenities including leisure, hospitality and community spaces, creating a focal point for residents and visitors. The masterplan is intentionally intimate and highly bespoke, responding to the historic fabric, topography and rural context of the site.
Through careful restoration and sensitive new interventions, the project demonstrates how historic agricultural buildings can be reimagined as the centrepiece of a contemporary residential community while preserving the heritage and identity of the place
