We are a close-knit team of professionals that range in skill and expertise. We are a team of 12 dedicated Architects etc, who live for design. We have no predetermined style and no designer egos, and every project is a unique response, shaped by context, culture, and conversations with the people it serves.
We work with big picture strategies for big clients and get excited by the finer crafted detail. Our architectural, interior, and brand-led technical thinking is seamlessly integrated.
With over 100 years of combined experience, our wide lens approach ensures every project is cohesive, purposeful, and commercially right.

Paul Harrison

Paul Harrison is the founding architect and principal of the practice, and a strong advocate for high quality design within complex, developer led mixed use projects. He leads multidisciplinary teams and oversees delivery from concept through to completion.
Also active in academia, Paul is a design critic at the University of Liverpool and lectures in multidisciplinary design. Registered in both the UK and France, he brings international experience, strong leadership, and a proven track record across residential and commercial developments.
He maintains design oversight across all projects in the office.

Dave George

Dave George is a Director at JH.A with over 25 years’ experience in architecture. He leads the architectural team with a strong focus on design quality and business development, specialising in large scale projects that demand both creative vision and practical delivery.
Dave brings energy and leadership from concept through to completion. Prior to JH.A, he held senior roles at BDP and Austin Smith Lord, delivering a wide range of commercial and residential schemes.
Recent work includes the Bury Market Masterplan, Flexihall at 76 Quay Street, and securing a successful residential tender.

Polly McCue

Polly McCue is a Director at JH.A with over 20 years’ experience across leisure, hospitality, retail, and residential sectors. She has delivered high profile projects internationally, including in Australia and the United States.
Polly brings expertise across all stages of design, leading projects, coordinating teams, and managing entire brands. Known for her attention to detail and delivery, her portfolio is extensive and consistently well executed.
Recent projects include The Sun Wharf, Zoo Digital, and Revolution Bars across the UK, to name just a few.

Josh Greenfield

Josh Greenfield is an Associate in Architecture and academic with over 10 years’ international experience across the UK, France, and Asia. Now based in Manchester, he thrives in a collaborative studio environment.
He has a strong interest in adaptive reuse, sustainability, and design as a tool for communication and positive change. Alongside project work, Josh leads bid development and brand direction for the practice.
Projects include Castle House Sheffield, The Pump House in Lancaster, Kemps Corner, and the Croatia Mill Masterplan.

Sami Kamha

Sami Kamha is a qualified architect with a First Class degree and distinction from the University of Salford and Newcastle University. He plays a vital role at JH.A, bringing a cool, balanced approach that blends creative design thinking with strong project management and an easy, personable style.
Recent work includes the restoration of Grade II listed buildings across the UK, a retrofit within a Grimshaw building, and a masterplan scheme in York.

Zach Stretch

Zach Stretch is an Architectural Technologist with experience across architecture, planning, and interior design. Working within a diverse and skilled team, he contributes to delivering distinctive and innovative projects.
With a background in interiors, Zach bridges technical detailing with creative design, particularly in high end bespoke elements, helping bring complex schemes together.
Recent projects include the Bury Market Masterplan and the renovation of the Smithfield Buildings in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Claire Trask

Claire Trask is a Senior Architectural Technologist and Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists MCIAT. She has built a strong career working with high profile practices.
Specialising in detailed design, construction drawings, and specifications, Claire is a key link between concept and delivery. With in depth knowledge of UK Building Regulations and industry standards, she ensures precision and quality throughout.
Her experience spans residential, commercial, retail, and mixed use sectors, with recent projects including Luneside Lancaster, YHA Bath, and YHA Boggle Hole.

Ash Higginbottom

Ash Higginbottom is the Company Secretary and Financial Controller at JH Architects, overseeing finance, business operations, and project coordination across UK construction sites. With a strong handle on budgeting, contractor liaison, and client representation, Ash is very much the glue of the office, keeping everything aligned between practice and project delivery and making sure it all runs like clockwork.

Cat Wilson is a First Class furniture and interior designer with a passion for reimagining existing buildings. She works closely with original structures to highlight and celebrate their character.
Specialising in spatial planning and commercially driven design, Cat’s experience spans residential, student, and hospitality sectors, with a love for crafting bespoke, one off experiences.
Recent projects include a Grade II listed bar and restaurant redesign in Wetherby, and student halls and a Student Union in Loughborough.

Georgia Brock

Georgia Brock holds a First Class degree in International Business and brings a strong foundation in construction project management, shaped by her experience with the NHS.
With expertise in smart home systems and bar and restaurant interiors, she brings a technically informed, detail focused approach to contemporary design.
Recent work includes Birmingham University’s Student Union and a still top secret project at Manchester Airport.

Oliver Kearney

Oliver Kearney studied architecture in Liverpool and Newcastle, graduating with distinction and earning an AJ Student Prize nomination. He has worked at large national practices on major infrastructure projects, including transport schemes for HS2.
Now focused on retrofit residential and new build projects, Oliver brings a careful balance of technical precision and design sensitivity, particularly within evolving urban contexts.
Recent projects include the YHA OBT scheme in Snowdonia and work in Eskdale.
